Millions condemn Gaza massacre

Demonstrations have taken place on the streets of cities around the world. Marches and rallies took place throughout Britain and Europe. There were more than 21,000 people at one demonstration in Paris. Marches were also took to the streets in Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and Turkey.

In Israel, Israeli Arabs are holding ongoing protests. Kuwaitis also took action. Thousands rallied and marched in New York and other US cities. The biggest action was in London earlier this month when 50,000 people gathered on London’s Embankment.

In Sydney on January 18 between 6-8,000 people participated in a rally in Town Hall Square and a march to Hyde Park.

Worldwide revulsion against Israel’s war on Gaza caused the publicity-shy Greek government last week to prevent a US naval ship carrying 235 armament-laden containers from leaving Astakos port for Israel. The Aporrea web site also reported that Venezuela flew 12.5 tonnes of medicines to Egypt for delivery to Gaza. So far, donor nations, including Russia, Belgium, Venezuela and Arab countries, have provided Gaza with an estimated 3,500 tonnes of medical supplies and 26,000 tonnes of food and other provisions.

Both Venezuela and Bolivia broke off diplomatic relations with Israel.
