Issue #1911      April 20, 2020

THIS WEEK ...

Hello comrades! We start our first issue after the Easter break with some very interesting Australian history and theory. In our theory section we are taking a glimpse at Lance Sharkey’s pamphlet The Trade Unions: Communist Theory and Practice of Trade Unionism. In this section, we look at Reformism within the trade union movement.

The two articles in our history section are perhaps two of the largest events to happen within our history. The first is on Fred Paterson and historical election victory as the first ever communist to hold a parliamentary seat – state or federal – in Australia. The second is on the Petrov Affair where the Menzies government attempted to link this incident to the CPA in order to distract from his own government’s failings during an election year.

Next article – REFORMIST “THEORIES” AND HARMFUL PRACTICES
