The Australian Anti-AUKUS Coalition (AAAC) co-ordinated a series of successful rallies on 24 February at the offices of Federal Ministers around the country.
The rallies were held to oppose Australia’s rising tide of militarism, including the AUKUS nuclear-powered submarines.
The Sydney Anti-AUKUS Coalition, Marrickville Peace Group and Wollongong Against War and Nukes attended along with members of other groups including the CPA, Medical Association for the Prevention of War, Socialist Alliance, and Solidarity.
Speakers called on the Prime Minister to turn his government’s back on military might and instead pursue a path of diplomacy with our neighbours in the region.
The major demands were for AUKUS to be scrapped, no nuclear submarines and no war on China.
A delegation was allowed into the office to deliver a letter to Prime Minister Albanese.
