It is with great sorrow that we received the sad news of the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
On this sad occasion, we convey our deepest condolences to the family of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, the Central Committee of your party, all its members, the Vietnamese people and government.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong has been a significant leader of the Vietnamese Party; a leader who defended the Party and socialism in Vietnam against corruption and reactionary forces. His passing is a great loss to Vietnam and the international communist movement.
The Communist Party of Australia knows that the passing of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a big loss but we also know your Party will continue his struggle to achieve the Communist Party of Vietnam’s goals.
Comrade Nguyen will always be remembered by comrades and internationally for his fight against corruption and as a defender of the interests of the Vietnamese people and upholding the noble values of Socialism and Communism.
Yours in solidarity,
