Anti-Zionist members of the Jewish community who oppose Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians are being targeted by the Israel lobby’s head-kickers. An organiser of the dissenting Jewish voices, Keren Rubinstein, said those opposing the war in Gaza have been ostracised from the Jewish community.
“We’re shut down, we’re demonised, we’re even criminalised, we’re sacked from our jobs, we’re silenced at every turn, both professionally and socially.” Another activist, David Glanz, said the incidents portrayed as antisemitism were “tragic but isolated” and were used to create a narrative that Jews were living in fear.
“We stand against the genocide in Gaza and we reject [claims] that the Palestinian movement is fomenting antisemitism. We think there is a highly political agenda here, where people claiming to be motivated by antisemitism are actually motivated to shut down Palestinian voices.”
Glanz rejected the Israel lobby’s claim that they speak for all Jews. “There isn’t one form of being a Jew. Antisemitism is real but the politicians and media who put such emphasis on it have nothing to say about the rising tide of hatred faced by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”
The Jewish Council of Australia’s Sarah Schwartz said NSW Premier Chris Minns’ description of the discovery of explosions in a van in the Sydney suburb of Dural as “terrorism” was “unhelpful” because there was lack of evidence to justify the claim.
“That sort of language has increased fear and panic, referring to it as a potential mass casualty event,” said Schwartz. “This not to say resources shouldn’t be dedicated to investigating, but this sort of heightened and hyperbolic language doesn’t assist.”
She said politicians should have waited to determine the cause “before introducing law and order legislation” as a “kneejerk response.”
Chief executive of the Australian Jewish Association, Robert Gregory, noted, “The latest arrests demonstrate that the rushed hate crime legislation passed at state and federal level are not the answer. If police are correct that none of the perpetrators were motivated by antisemitism, then those laws would not have been of any use. Questions remain about who was behind the campaign.”
The antisemitism narrative is also the excuse used to justify the widespread restriction of democratic rights to shut down protest that has taken place in Australia, the US, Britain, and a number of other countries.
To keep the atmosphere of fear and concern going, it is necessary to have a constant stream of shadowy threats and the occasional actual act of terrorism.
There has been a constant stream of alleged dangers from incidents trumpeted as “antisemitism.”
What shadowy figures behind the scenes financed, armed and commanded those who carried out these activities?
It is important to ask the question: Who benefits?
If terrorism is to be looked at objectively, it is clear that the objectives pursued by the US gangsters in power in the White House are being served by the terrorist acts that have taken place.
The powers-that-be are well aware that people will quickly tire of the narrative charade, so it has to be beefed up continuously by a steady stream of alleged threats and the occasional incident to make it all look real.
With elections in Australia coming soon, it would not come as a surprise if there were some significant incident to stampede the people into voting the Albanese government back into office. This would enable the Labor-Liberal duopoly to proceed with the real wars that they have in mind towards their shared objective of US imperialist domination.
