Dear comrade,
The Communist Party of Australia conveys its warmest greetings to the JVP leadership and its membership on the 60th anniversary of foundation of the People’s Liberation Front, JVP.
It has been a historical development since its formation as a movement to today as the governing party in Sri Lanka.
We had the opportunity of meeting you during your tour in Australia hosted by the NPP Australia. The CPA was honoured to work with the NPP in several states in Australia attending several events and getting to know the Sri Lankan community in our country.
The work of the JVP in developing a mass movement that was supported by the
Sri Lankan people during the presidential and parliamentary elections is a lesson for many on how to build support from the bottom up among the working people.
The achievements of today are a tribute to the memory of those who fought hard for social change. Many of those activists made the ultimate sacrifice for a brighter future in Sri Lanka and its people.
We congratulate you on the 60th anniversary of the JVP and wish your hard work translate in the social transformation for a better society for all the Sri Lankan people.
