Dear comrade,
The Communist Party of Australia conveys its warmest greetings to the members and leadership of AKEL on the celebration of the 24th Congress to be held in Nicosia on 20-22 June 2025.
This Congress bears particular importance as it will take place on the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the founding congress of the Communist Party of Cyprus-AKEL and will serve as a springboard for the future, for a new century of life and action of the Cypriot Left.
We appreciate the role of AKEL in the struggle of the Cypriot people for self-determination through solidarity and active participation. It is clear that AKEL is the only alternative for the future of Cyprus.
AKEL, like the CPA, stands in solidarity with Palestine as the world witnesses the televised genocide of the 21st Century. We must push our respective governments to recognise Palestine as an independent state and condemn the Zionist government of Israel.
While we are wishing you every success in the deliberations of your 24th Congress, we extend our wholehearted solidarity with delegates, leadership, members and supporters on this special occasion. We look forward to hearing about your congress resolutions as we strengthen the fraternal relations between the Communist Party of Australia and AKEL on the basis of international solidarity and the struggle for socialism and peace.
