Stop the US threats to Venezuela

A CPA delegation led by the Party president paid a visit to the embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to meet with the Chief of Mission in Australia, Luis Laya on 18-19 September 2025.

Laya updated the CPA delegation on the dangerous and irresponsible threats to his country by the United States.

For a number of weeks now the US has moved its warships to the Caribbean in front of the sovereign waters of Venezuela. It has bombed three fishing boats, killing 24 fishermen under the pretext of preemptive action against drug trafficking.

The objectives of US imperialism haven’t changed, the forcible removal of the Bolivarian government of President Nicolás Maduro and the imposition of a puppet government to rob Venezuelans of their oil.

Venezuela has the biggest certified reserves of oil and gas in the world. For decaying US imperialism, grabbing control of those natural resources seems an imperative.

The Bolivarian revolution led by Commander Hugo Chávez gave the Venezuelan people hope and a future by using the income generated by the oil industry in the benefit of all Venezuelan people. This fact was not in the dirty books of the United States, and a war of intervention by any means was launched against the Bolivarian government.

The US has pushed its regime change policies against Venezuela with coup d’état campaigns, assassination attempts against the leaders of the revolution, and the funding of a violent opposition.

Most recently the US offered a reward of $50 million for the head of President Nicolás Maduro. Meanwhile the US moved its warships to the Caribbean in an open threat of military intervention with the pretence of combatting narco-terrorism.

The Bolivarian revolution has the support of its people and has responded by mobilising its 4 million strong militias calling on the people to take up arms in defence of their sovereignty.

The situation is very dangerous as reported by Venezuela’s Chargé d’affaires Luis Laya, calling on the international community to demand the US cease its threats and its attacks on the Venezuelan people.

The CPA delegation delivered a message of solidarity with the Bolivarian revolution, its government and people.

Hands off Venezuela!
