Elizabeth Rowley
Leader
Communist Party of Canada
Dear Comrade Elizabeth,
We are inspired and energised to see the progress made by our fraternal brothers and sisters of the Communist Party of Canada. You have 104 years of working-class struggle behind you in building for a socialist future for the people of Canada and we know this will continue until you reach that goal.
The neoliberal capture of the Canadian state calls for a heightened battle against finance capital. Your aim to bring real, socialist democracy to Canada through unions and asserting the leading role of the working class is also our aspiration for Australia. We support one another knowing we work towards the same goals. Bringing together the anti-monopoly and anti-imperialist movements is our common aim.
We are learning how to innovate, how to draw from history, how to harness scientific socialism and defeat capitalism and imperialism in our respective countries. Canada and Australia play a negative role in the subjugation of the nations of the Global South, and the attempted Cold War against China. Both Governments have recognised Palestine but continue to support Israel’s genocidal regime. In our countries we are also tasked with wiping out the scourge of settler colonialism that has decimated First Peoples.
Peace is our common priority. In a world where genocide and war are becoming once again the norm, peace work is more necessary than ever before.
We wish that your 41st Convention is a resounding success, that it forges sharper unity and refines your campaign goals in the next period.
Long live proletarian internationalism!
Long live the Communist Party of Canada!
