The Communist Party of Australia and our Central Committee International Department extend our warmest wishes to the heroic Communist Party of Israel (CPI) on the occasion of your 29th Congress, which is to be held under the banner of ‘Organisational and Ideological Revival and a Shield Against Fascism.’
The working class and progressive forces of Israel are crucial right now in resisting Zionism and fascism under Netanyahu, who is committing a catastrophic genocide in Gaza and on the West Bank, in full view of the eyes of the world.
We honour those who gave their lives for your movement, in particular the life and work of Issam Makhoul, and trust that this next period will be a time of growth, new energy and organisation around key objectives of your Party.
In Australia, Communist activists and people in general have stood in solidarity with Palestine for the last 2 years. We have called for the end of the genocide and the recognition of Palestine as an independent state. The Albanese government was forced in 2025 to shift its policy, by the people in this country and the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people on the ground.
We commend you for your bravery and fortitude in this time as you resist Israeli aggression, and look forward to more mutual exchange and information sharing as to our respective struggles in the coming years.
