The Communist Party of Australia, condemns in the strongest possible terms the outrageous proposal by US imperialism to take control of the Gaza strip and expel the Gazan people from their land. That amounts to ethnic cleansing and a violation of international law.
All democratic forces around the world must reject such an imperialist proposal and demand a permanent ceasefire, the release of all political prisoners and the recognition of an independent Palestinian state.
The Palestinian authorities will then coordinate with the international community for the reconstruction of the country, a peace-keeping force and the right to return.
It is now obvious that both Israel and the United States are responsible for 76 years of genocide and the collective punishment of all Palestinians.
The Communist Party of Australia calls on the Australian government to back up its bipartisan policy of support for a two state solution by immediately recognising an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The CPA firmly stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination.
